Run the Race!

The word of God remains us not to get weary in well-doing, for in due season we will reap if we faint not (Galatians 6:9). A great quality to have is endurance. You see the race is not given to the swift or to the strong, but the one who endures to the end. You would think if you are running a race that the one who is the fastest would naturally win. However this is not any ordinary race, this is the race of a lifetime. This christian race is not about competition like most races. It's more about character and purpose.

Let me explain, in any race the runner wants to win. With training and conditioning in a regular race you have the best chance to win if you are the fastest. This christian race we are in has nothing to do with speed, but purpose. Each person must run there own race, they must get to there finish line, a finish line that is uniquely created by the Father. In this christian race we are not in competition with each other. We are players on the same team with different races to run. Each track has been laid out by the Father, the path in which we run has already been walked by Jesus for we step in the predetermined steps that have been laid before us. Our Coach is the Holy Spirit who leads us and guides us to make sure we stay the course in which we started. Therefore the challenge is not getting to the end, for we all have an end. The challenge is not getting distracted and taken off course by our own lusts and desires, or by the hindrances the enemy tries to put in our path.

We must allow ourselves to be conditioned, refined, and processed so that we can endure until the end and win the prize that is eternal. This lifetime race, gets us the greatest prize every, eternal life.
