Luke 6:49 "But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; againast which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great".

The Holy Scirptures are powerful, they are inspirted by God and written by man. The Bible is the road map of the Christian faith, what we read are not just stories but it life; it is the compass that guides us. However we gain faith from hearing the word of God. If we look at the above scripture we can see here, that hearing would be listen and moving on that which you have heard or listened too. We see that Jesus gives us a parable, an earthly story with a heavenly meaning to describe the danger of not hearing, listen, and doing the word of God. He tells us the danger of not hearing. listening, and doing is the same as a man that builds a house on the earth. The house being built directly on the earth, the dirt without a foundation would be very unstable. Upon building it, it would seem as though it would last until a storm comes and the house is greatly destoryed. Jesus gives us an example of something that could happen in our everyday lives, something that we can relate too. Yet it has a very spiritual meaning if Jesus is not our foundation, if our lives are not built in and through Him, the end will only be destruction.

Jesus is a firm foundation. He is a battle axe in the time of trouble. He is a fortress, a tower where we can run into and be safe. We can trust Him, He is trustworthy. He will never leave you or forsake you. He is always there and nothing can separate you from His love. When we are resting on the firm rock that Jesus is, we can do all things in Him. We are the head and not the tail, we are above and not beneath. We are more than conquerors. We are never alone, and we have the power and strength in His Holy Spirit to live our purpose. What is impossible with man, is possible with Jesus!

If you reject Jesus then you reject life and the end thereof is destruction. Jesus comes that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Choose this day who you will serve?
