Prayer: Father we come to right now with open hearts and minds, asking you to be with us. We pray for wisdom, not just any wisdom but you wisdom. You said in your word you would not have us to be ignorant, So we pray right now for your wisdom and a understanding heart. That we would have the power to get wealth, ideas that would bring in income, businesses that would not only excel but advance your Kingdom. Lead us to your will for our lives, in every area of our lives not our will but thy will be done in the name of Jesus. Have your way Lord Jesus, Have you way. Be with us while we study your word that we would not just be hearers of the word but doers also. They we would apply your word to every everyday lives, and that word would take root in our hearts and bear fruit in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen!
Scripture: Daniel 1:17 and 20 “As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm”.
Title: Wisdom in the World
As we continue our Study in the book of Daniel, last time we talked about how the enemy goes after seed, the seed in us, which could be our talent, our skills, the word of God prophesied to us, or the gifts God has given us. The enemy will always challenge what God is doing in our lives and fight against our destiny in Christ Jesus. So we learned last time that the very area the devil challenges in most times is the very area God wants to use us in.
However this time we want to shift that study from the enemy going after the seed, or the snake going after the seed. To what we actually do with what is given to us? It is so very important that the seeds that are planted are able to bear fruit, and for that fruit to multiply. In order for a seed, to really take root in our lives, the condition of the ground has to be right. The ground would be the condition of our hearts. If our hearts are filled with the world, or covetousness, unforgiveness, jealousy those secret sins that are not are not easily seen: but still need to be dealt with. Many times we may see a person who is openly involved in sin, that could be a drunk or a drug addict, these sins are visible and easy to see. But what about those things that can’t be seen, but are just as dangerous to our spiritual walk, like lust, hatred, or envy.
While we are on this consecration and even in prayer of intercession for those who are not on the consecration, we need to check the condition of our hearts. We need to ask God if there are any hidden sins, or things that we are not aware of that need to be removed from our hearts or souls. Just like sometimes concerning relationships, romantic relationships or even just friendships we can have an ungodly soul tie. Which is being spiritually connected to someone that really is not supposed to be apart of your life. So it is very important periodically especially if you see yourself moving backwards or away from God to check the condition of your heart, and check the people you hang around. Ungodly soul ties can even happen between family members. The bible says, “How can two walk together unless they agree?”
So Let’s get into the word of God, in looking at Daniel 1:17 we see that God blessed Daniel and his friends with special skills. Not everyone is called to preach, yet still you can have a ministry. The word “minister” means to serve, therefore a ministry is a service and their are all types of different services you can give people or do to help others. Some people may find that there ministry may actually be within their workplace and that’s fine. God calls many to do different things and we all have different gifts that glorify Him.
Now let’s look at Daniel 1:21, here we see that Daniel and his friends stood out above the rest, because of the wisdom and skills they had. What God has given us in gift or talent is special. It is our choice in how we use what he has given us, whether for our own benefit or for the Kingdom of God. What I want to emphasize here, you can give God glory wherever you are, and you don’t have to preach or teach to do so. Give God glory by using what he has given you to help and bless others. Take in the word of God, learn it, meditate on it and apply it to your life. What good is it to read and study the bible if you don't learn what God is saying to you, through his word? So please on today look at the gifts and the talents and the skills you have, are you using them for God? Or have you buried your gifts and talents?
Many times God gives us special talents, for example I have a passion for writing. I am a good writer, and I consider it a gift from the Lord. So I am also a christian author this gift I chose to use to help others by writing christian books, but also in writing the books it can also give me an income. So when the word of God says, God gives us the power to get wealth, that power may very well be an idea, or a gift you need to use.
Father help us to use what you have given us for your glory. Help us to identify those things we can do to make money, and provide for our family. Holy Spirit remind us of the ideas the Lord has given us, or the businesses the Lord may have place in our spirits, to bless us and others. Bring divine connections to help us to do your will, and to help us to use our gifts and talents for your Kingdom. Help us to be innovative and creative, and not be afraid to do something new or unfamiliar, in the name of Jesus. Give us the resources and the wisdom to carry it out in the name of Jesus we pray Amen.
