Bible Study-Take Heart

Prayer: Lord we come to you now, in the name of Jesus wanting to learn from you. Wanting to sit at the feet of Jesus, Have your way. Be with us now, give us an understanding of your word in the name of Jesus. Lord move in our hearts, minds, and souls, restore us, revive us and bring us closer to you in the name of Jesus. Let your word penetrate our hearts and bring about change. Speak through me Holy Spirit, and have your way, none of me but all of you. In Jesus name Amen!!!

Scripture: Ezekiel 36:26-27- ” I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you,I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them”.

Title: Remove What’s not needed Lord!

Let’s get right into the word of the Lord on tonight! I am so excited for this new year, new season and all that God is doing in the ministry in the name of Jesus. When we take a look at our hearts physically we see that it is our life source. We must have a heartbeat to live. As we look at our hearts spiritually, we are aware that conversation takes place in the heart. When we are saved, we are changed, we are a new creation. Everything about us spiritually has changed: when we die our body returns to God, our spirit returns to God, but our soul lives on in Heaven or Hell.

This scripture is really focusing on the circumcision of the heart. I want you to think of a newborn baby. A baby boy must be circumcised the foreskin must be taken off from his private area, which is just extra skin. In the same respect we must have the extra things of the world cut away from our heart, so that we are more receptive to the word of God. We are shaped and born in sin, over the years sin has a way of effecting every part of our lives when we are unsaved. When we receive salvation, it is important to begin to renew your mind. Challenging the way you think with the word of God, seeking for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as well (see Acts 2). As we do these things, we open our hearts to God to not just receive Jesus but to accept him as Lord.

As we allow more of Jesus into us through his word and Holy Spirit, we are overtaken by his spirit and empower to follow him in righteousness and holiness. In this year let us continue to press our way into the presence of the Lord, not neglecting Holy Spirit but embracing him.
