Teaching-The Potter

Prayer: Father we come to you now thanking and praising your name. For you are the Lord of Lords and the Kings of Kings. You are worthy of all the praise honor and glory. You save, set free, and deliver there is none like you in all the earth. Be with us now as we gather together to praise your name, to worship you, and to learn of you. None of us but all of you and let your word take root in our hearts and produce fruit, that will multi and remain, in Jesus name Amen!

Scripture: Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand”.

Title: In the Hands of the Potter!

It is a wonderful thing to be in the hands of the Lord. He is more than just our Creator He is a loving and protective Father. We must always realize that our lives in him means that we yield everything over to him. Our wills, emotions, desires, and our body. The scripture reminds us that if we want to gain our life we must lose it. Here is Isaiah 64:8 we see a perfect example of that. This is a illustration of our relationship with the Father.

We are the clay, and the Father is the potter, he molds us and shapes the way he wants. The clay can not say to the potter what are you making? In order for the relationship to work properly, we must be flexible in the hands of the potter. We must allow him to mold and shape us as He sees fit.

The truth is the Father knows what is best for us. The only way to the Father is by Jesus. As we build a relationship with Jesus we also come to know the Father. It is the Father that sets our purpose in motion for He is the One who created us. We must understand that we serve an all powerful and unique and one and only God. He is multifaceted, having many layers, and it's our job to peel back the layers and get to know all of him: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The great thing is that the Lord, Father God has taken care in making us. We are the workmanship of his hands. As we go through life within this christian walk, we must continually yield to the hands of the potter, allowing him to have his way with us anytime he wants as much as he wants.

I have found that, Father knows best. And it is easier to obey than to go astray. He loves us so much he sent his only beloved son to die on the cross for our sins.(John 3:16) He has given us the very breath in our body, and movement in our body. But we all have the choice to accept or reject salvation, to believe in Jesus and his finished work on the cross or reject him and choose unbelief. There is a heaven and a hell, the decisions you make today will affect you for an eternity.

Joshua 24:15 “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
