Title: True Worship and True Repentance

What a mighty God we serve here we really see the very heart of Jesus. He was invited to the house of Simon and the Jews has certain customs at those times. However Simon did not really treat Jesus with hospitality. Simon was so distracted by the uninvited guest a Prostitute, so He questioned if Jesus was a true Prophet. Because Jesus allowed the woman to touch him, So Jesus tells him a story. A story about a creditor who had two debtors one owing a lot and one owing a little. The creditor forgives both debts. So Jesus asks Simon of the debtors who were forgiven which one of the creditors love the debtor more? Simon answers correctly but does not comprehend what Jesus is really trying to teach him so Jesus breaks it down even more. Let look at Luke 7:44-46 New King James Version (NKJV)

“Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil”.

Jesus knows our motives behind our actions, because he sees our hearts and thoughts. People see our outside but Jesus sees our inside. Those in life, around us can look perfect or better than us, but we must learn not to compare ourselves to others or not to judge others. Jesus did not judge this woman, this woman represents us. We have all been forgiven of much so we should love him much.

Yet many of us are like Simon critical, judgemental and prideful. God help us to be more like you. Today I want you to really think about this, These two people and how they treated Jesus and Find yourself. I hope you will find that you are a true worshiper and you come to Jesus with true repentance.
