Teaching-Waiting on God

Prayer: Father we come to you now thanking and praising your name. You are worthy of all the glory, honor, and praise. Be with us now as we come together to worship you in spirit in truth. Have your way Lord God, let your word take root in our hearts to bring conviction, fruit, repentance in the name of Jesus. In all our getting let us get an understanding none of us but all of you, in Jesus name Amen!

Scripture: Mark 5:39 “And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? The damsel is not dead but sleepeth”.

Title: Your Dreams are Asleep!

I am very excited to give you the word on today. God is so very awesome and He has a word for his sheep on today. We have all heard this story preached many times. But I want to take it from a different perspective.

Many times the Lord can speak things into our lives by his word or prophecy and we are believing him, for it to come to past. I have seen so many people get discouraged because they got a word from the Lord, and it did not happen in the time they wanted. Just because you get a Prophecy does not mean it will happen right at that moment. Yes God can do things in an instant, in seconds he can change your situation, circumstance and bring a miracle. However all he does is subject to his divine timing, and everything he does has a purpose.

For example, Joseph had a dream when he was 17, but it did not come to pass until he was in his 30’s. Yet Joseph did not give up on his dreams, or on God. I understand it can be very hard to wait on the Lord. However when we focus on attention on him alone and keep the faith and trust him that he knows what he's doing. Even when we don’t understand, we can have peace in waiting.

So we see hear a family giving because they daughter had dyed. They were waiting for Jesus to come and heal their daughter, however along the way Jesus was interrupted from coming the heal the young girl because he was touched by the woman with the issue of blood. The woman with the issue of blood had suffering for a long time looking for a cure and spending all her money. Yet when she heard about Jesus she believed in him so much she knew if she could but touch the hem of his garment she would be made whole. Indeed she was made whole when she touched him. How many of us, instead of wearing about the doctor’s report, instead would say if I can touch the heart of God, I know he will heal me. If I can worship God I know he will heal me. If I just can touch Jesus, I know I will be made whole?

So in the midst of all that was going on, Jesus did not get to the young girl in time and she dyed. Or did he get to her in time? When Jesus arrived, He asked everyone why are you crying she is just sleeping? Jesus knew, she had passed from life to death, because Jesus also knows that he is the resurrection. He is life. So I want to suggest to you, that your dreams are asleep!?

Those things that you have been waiting for to come to past is just asleep. Your dream is waiting on the word and timing of God. To walk into the situation and say, Get Up! I am telling you today, that your dreams are not dead but asleep waiting on the timing of God, waiting on the word of Jesus to say “Get Up”! I have learned that the timing of God is not based on the time of a clock as we would look at it, but it is based on the conditions of our hearts, our attitudes and mindsets. If we can just get inline with the spirit of God on one accord and submissive to his will. We will see, that word we have been waiting on will come to pass.

1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time”.
